What You'll Do as an Account Director

As an Account Director at Blue Hour Studios, you will be at the heart of our brand team, overseeing a portfolio of clients and delivering inspiring work across our full range of capabilities. Leveraging your extensive account and brand strategy experience, you will translate key business objectives into clear deliverables, serving as the crucial link between clients and our Influencer, Creative, and Strategy teams. Your primary goal will be to achieve optimal creative and business outcomes for our clients. This role reports directly to the Vice President, Brand.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Development (40%)
  • Provide holistic oversight of all accounts, focusing on content innovation and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee the implementation of new client and project teams.
  • Manage client satisfaction, growth, retention, and ensure exceptional client experiences.
  • Shepherd appropriate resources for client businesses and provide incremental leadership.
  • Lead and manage both internal and external client and execution teams.
  • Evolve and enforce the ‘client experience’ framework to anticipate client needs.
  • Develop and manage a client feedback framework for team and client success.
  • Deepen understanding of client businesses, motivations, and needs.
  • Cultivate relationships with key leaders across Horizon Media teams for collaborative client leadership.
Strategic Planning & Thought Leadership (30%)
  • Translate client goals into innovative creative and media solutions.
  • Offer strategic counsel to clients and prospects.
  • Develop and deliver effective and persuasive points of view.
  • Understand client businesses and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities.
  • Ensure best practices are applied consistently across disciplines.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of timelines, deadlines, and integration points for all digital projects.
  • Lead teams to seamlessly produce all campaign components.
  • Proactively manage expectations for both clients and internal teams.
  • Ensure the Brand Team provides innovative solutions aligned with client goals, evaluating business health via relevant metrics.
  • Bring powerful thought leadership to consult on complex issues and identify innovative solutions.
  • Utilize Blue Hour resources and collaborate with partner agencies for holistic business solutions.
Business Growth (20%)
  • Spearhead new business opportunities and proposal development.
  • Strategically identify and persuasively sell incremental solutions/capabilities for organic growth.
  • Responsible for account/project profitability, including forecasting and pre-close reporting.
Team Management & Supervision (10%)
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and innovative working environment.
  • Ensure team members receive necessary training and support for development goals.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching direct reports for maximum success.
  • Guide team in setting goals and professional development timelines, ensuring challenging projects.
  • Provide ongoing, real-time performance feedback to ensure continuous team growth.
  • Actively participate in conversations regarding staffing needs.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of creative agency or brand marketing experience.
  • Strong operational prowess with experience in process building.
  • Exceptional digital marketing and strategic abilities across multiple business verticals.
  • Influencer marketing and production experience highly preferred.
  • Experience working and collaborating with cross-agency teams to build integrated marketing plans.
  • Client or agency relationship management experience preferred.
  • High level of comfort presenting to clients and internal team members.
  • Self-starter, demonstrating initiative.
  • Strong Leadership skills and ability to develop and mentor teams.
  • An advocate for and supporter of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $140,000.00 - $165,000.00. Actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual skill sets, experience, training, education, certifications, and qualifications. Horizon Media takes an aptitude and competency-based hiring approach.
