Senior Product Manager, Commerce - AI & Platform at Hopper

Hopper Technology Solutions is seeking an entrepreneurial and highly technical Senior Product Manager to lead its AI & Commerce Foundations Team. This greenfield role involves defining the AI strategy for Hopper's B2B e-commerce platform. You will be responsible for the core platform, including authentication, APIs, and partner tools, and determining how Large Language Models (LLMs) can create significant partner value.

As the Senior Product Manager, Commerce - AI & Platform, you will operate at the intersection of platform architecture, AI model integration, and external partner value. You'll bridge Hopper's extensive travel data, advanced AI models, and partner-facing products. This role calls for a "smart creative" who can engage in technical trade-offs with engineers while maintaining a strong focus on solving partner problems.

You are an effective communicator who delivers quickly, utilizing data and competitive analysis to identify opportunities where AI can uniquely differentiate Hopper's platform.

What Would Your Day-to-day Look Like

  • Platform Architecture: Own critical architecture decisions for authentication, APIs, loyalty, and payment systems.
  • Drive Partner Success: Ship features that dramatically reduce partner integration time from weeks to days.
  • Dual-Impact Strategy: Develop solutions for two distinct audiences: internal teams (Flights, Cars, Checkout) and external B2B partners, requiring constant prioritization between them.
  • Technical Leadership: Collaborate closely with senior engineers to translate AI/ML capabilities into a prioritized product roadmap.
  • Zero-to-One Execution: Manage the full product lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and defining Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) to shipping and iterating.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Coordinate with engineers, data scientists, and partner success teams to deliver AI features that effectively address partner needs.

You Are a Perfect Fit If You

  • You have a proven track record in designing APIs and SDKs, understanding what makes them user-friendly and robust.
  • You are adept at challenging technical assumptions and prioritize shipping value quickly over striving for perfect architecture.
  • You possess a systems-thinking approach, comprehending the interconnectedness of authentication, APIs, and payment systems.
  • You have successfully built and launched at least one product from scratch, ideally within the B2B or platform domain.
  • You bring 5+ years of experience in product management, with a minimum of 2 years specifically in B2B or platform products.
  • You are proficient with SQL, A/B testing, and skilled at using data to inform product decisions.
  • You have experience shipping products under tight constraints, without extensive budgets, dedicated design teams, or clear initial direction.
  • You understand when to apply techniques like RAG versus fine-tuning and can articulate the limitations of LLMs (e.g., hallucinations, latency, cost).
  • You have hands-on experience with AI APIs (such as OpenAI, Anthropic) or have implemented AI features in past roles.
  • You consistently engage with customers to gather feedback and inform prioritization.
  • You excel at writing clear documentation, presenting to executives, and facilitating decision-making across diverse teams.
  • You are a ruthless prioritizer and capable of making effective decisions with incomplete information.
  • You maintain effectiveness and focus even when priorities shift unexpectedly.

Please note: This position is offered as an Independent Contractor engagement (Contract for Services) and does not constitute an offer of direct employment. The successful candidate will operate as a self-employed individual or through a Personal Service Company (PSC) and will be responsible for their own tax, PRSI, and VAT compliance in accordance with Irish Revenue Commissioners regulations.
