About the Role: Senior Product Manager, Commerce - AI & Platform at Hopper

Hopper Technology Solutions is actively seeking an entrepreneurial and highly technical Senior Product Manager to spearhead its AI & Commerce Foundations Team. This is a unique greenfield opportunity to define the AI strategy for Hopper's B2B e-commerce platform. You will be responsible for the core platform, including authentication, APIs, and partner tools, while also determining how Large Language Models (LLMs) can generate significant value for partners.

As the Senior Product Manager, Commerce - AI & Platform, you will operate at the crucial intersection of platform architecture, AI model integration, and external partner value. Your role involves bridging Hopper's vast travel data with advanced AI models and partner-facing products. We are looking for a "smart creative" who can adeptly discuss complex technical trade-offs with engineers while maintaining an unwavering focus on solving partner problems.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a proven ability to ship products quickly. You leverage data and competitive analysis to identify opportunities where AI can truly differentiate Hopper's platform. Day-to-day Responsibilities

  • Platform Architecture: Take ownership of critical architecture decisions pertaining to authentication, APIs, loyalty, and payment systems.
  • Drive Partner Success: Develop and ship features designed to significantly reduce partner integration time from weeks to mere days.
  • Dual-Impact Strategy: Strategize and build solutions for two distinct audiences: internal teams (Flights, Cars, Checkout) and external B2B partners, requiring constant prioritization between their needs.
  • Technical Leadership: Collaborate closely with senior engineers to translate AI/ML capabilities into a clear, prioritized product roadmap.
  • Zero-to-One Execution: Manage the complete product lifecycle, from identifying nascent opportunities and defining Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) to shipping and iterating on solutions.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Coordinate effectively with engineers, data scientists, and partner success teams to deliver AI features that precisely address partner requirements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in designing robust APIs and SDKs, with a deep understanding of what makes them easy to adopt and resilient.
  • A mindset that challenges technical assumptions and prioritizes efficient shipping over achieving 'perfect' architecture.
  • Ability to think in comprehensive systems, understanding the intricate connections between authentication, APIs, and payment mechanisms.
  • Track record of building and launching at least one product from inception, with a preference for B2B or platform-oriented solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, including a minimum of 2 years specifically in B2B or platform product roles.
  • Proficiency with SQL, A/B testing methodologies, and a data-driven approach to product decision-making.
  • Experience shipping successful products even in resource-constrained environments (without large budgets, dedicated design teams, or explicit direction).
  • Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts, including when to employ RAG versus fine-tuning, and the ability to articulate LLM limitations (e.g., hallucinations, latency, cost).
  • Practical experience working with AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) or implementing AI-powered features.
  • Regularly engages with customers, utilizing their feedback as a primary driver for prioritization.
  • Exceptional communication skills: capable of writing clear documentation, presenting effectively to executives, and facilitating crucial decisions across diverse teams.
  • A strong ability to prioritize ruthlessly and make informed decisions even with incomplete information.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness and adaptability when faced with shifting priorities.
