General Summary
The Assistant Project Manager - HVAC assists project managers with planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating project preparations and executions to meet cost, quality, equipment utilization, and safety objectives.
Principal Accountabilities
- Assist in project management: estimates, material procurement, subcontracts, and meetings.
- Prepare project budgets and schedules; monitor progress through meetings and reports.
- Conduct detailed plan take-offs for timely project estimates.
- Expedite CADD/BIM work in projects.
- Keep clients informed of progress and manage change orders.
- Purchase equipment and coordinate manpower, tools, and supplies.
- Manage administrative aspects: change orders, rental equipment, timesheets, billing, and collections.
- Maintain strong relationships with field employees and participate in industry events.
- Oversee job closeout process including punch lists and as-built drawings.
- Attend departmental meetings and social functions.
Working Environment
The role involves a mix of office work and frequent site visits. It requires regular computer use, repetitive typing, bending, twisting, light lifting, and climbing ladders in various weather conditions.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-year technical education in an engineering or construction management field, or relevant apprenticeship.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in construction industry projects preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Able to lead project teams and track project budgets effectively.
