Job Summary
The HR Business Partner team at HKEX serves as a trusted strategic advisor to business leaders, ensuring people strategies directly enable business performance and long-term organizational success. This Assistant Vice President, HR Business Partner role will work closely with designated business divisions to shape workforce and talent development, combining strategic insight with hands-on delivery across the full spectrum of people matters. The role requires deep business understanding, strong stakeholder influence, and the ability to translate organizational needs into actionable, data-driven HR solutions.
Job Duties: Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic advisor to business, aligning people plans with business objectives and enabling effective organization design, workforce planning, capability building, and change initiatives.
- Lead Talent Review and Succession Planning processes, identifying and developing strong pipelines for critical roles.
- Support the onboarding and integration of senior leaders to accelerate their effectiveness.
- Partner with HR COEs to deploy enterprise initiatives covering performance management, leadership enablement, learning development, talent programs, year-end compensation review, wellness awareness, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Leverage people insights and analytics to identify organizational issues and shape solutions.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate headcount planning, resource allocation, and disciplined cost management.
- Support employee engagement and recommend areas of improvement and action plans to business.
- Handle employee relations matters by ensuring an objective, fair, and consistent approach compliant with company policies and employment practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of HR business partnering experience, ideally with diverse culture or multinational environments.
- Work experience in Chinese Mainland is an advantage.
- Proven ability to build credible, trust‑based partnerships with business leaders and to collaborate effectively across HR teams.
- Strong communication, influencing, and conflict‑resolution capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategic concepts into practical people solutions.
- Highly detail‑oriented, analytical, and data‑driven, with strong problem‑solving acumen.
- Solid knowledge of Hong Kong employment law, and experience of handling employment relations.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
