Information Technology Manager Data Analytics

Hong Kong Baptist University is seeking an experienced Information Technology Manager specializing in Data Analytics to join the Office of Information Technology. Reporting to the Senior Information Technology Manager, this role is crucial for developing advanced analytical and reporting output to support management decisions and align with the University's strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

• Guide the design of data plans, collaborating with stakeholders including architecture teams, business users (academic and administrative), and data providers.
• Develop and implement data quality standards, control plans, and evaluation systems.
• Create advanced analytics solutions, incorporating AI and machine learning, to enhance data management processes and efficiency.
• Build predictive models to solve problems and inform strategic business decisions.
• Manage third-party vendors and consultants for successful data analytics projects.
• Perform ad hoc analysis on large and diverse datasets using various tools and techniques to provide actionable insights.
• Undertake other IT projects and assignments as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of industry experience in Data Management & Analytics.
• Experience as a Solution Architect or Data Architect is preferred.
• Proven track record in implementing solutions in modern data architecture, Big Data, and/or traditional BI/DW/ETL.
• Solid experience with Oracle Cloud, MS Azure, AWS, PowerBI, Tableau, QlikSense, and statistical packages like SAS or Alteryx.
• Proficiency in PL/SQL, Java, Stored Procedures, and Linux/Unix shell.
• Ability to translate business needs into formal designs.
• Strong organizational, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong leadership skills and commitment-to-task.

Selection Process:

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a written test.

Contract and Salary:

The initial appointment will be for a fixed-term contract of up to two years, with the possibility of re-appointment. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
