Inside Sales Support Associate at Homans Associates

Homans Associates (HA), a subsidiary of Watsco, Inc., is the largest independent HVAC/R distribution company in the world. We distribute Mitsubishi and Bryant HVAC equipment along with a full line of parts, supplies, and accessories throughout New England, New York, and New Jersey.

Job Overview

This position is based in Commack, NY and reports directly to the Branch Manager. It focuses on air-side HVAC operations including Mitsubishi Ductless and Bryant equipment along with residential and commercial HVAC parts and supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-and post-order support to key dealers and the local sales team.
  • Suggest improvements in the sales administration process.
  • Use computer databases to verify merchandise availability and process orders.
  • Collaborate with sales to take off and submit job quotes.
  • Offer technical support including monitoring shipping, delivery, and returns.
  • Follow orders until successful, on-time customer delivery.
  • Handle incoming requests for bids, product info, specifications, and applications.
  • Provide post-sale follow-up and support as needed.
  • Coordinate with customers, sales, and suppliers to resolve issues.

Qualifications & Skills

  • HVAC background required.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Good computer skills and software literacy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environments.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving and excellent planning skills.
  • High personal accountability, urgency, and self-initiative.
  • Knowledge of residential and commercial product configurations is desired.
  • Professional phone etiquette and exceptional follow-through.

Education & Experience

A college degree is preferred but not required. Candidates must be high-energy, self-starters with a strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills. This role requires working in a fast-paced, competitive environment. Note that no relocation assistance is provided.

Compensation

The pay rate is $32.00 per hour.
