Counter Sales Associate
Homans Associates (HA) is a subsidiary of the largest independent HVAC/R distribution company, Watsco, Inc. They proudly distribute Mitsubishi and Bryant HVAC equipment along with a full line of HVAC parts, supplies, and accessories.
Responsibilities
- Sells heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Greets customers on the sales floor or via telephone, discusses merchandise features.
- Displays merchandise, suggests selections, and maintains a clean showroom.
- Reads catalog or computer for part stock numbers and prices, advises on substitutions.
- Uses computer database to check merchandise availability and processes orders.
- Handles payments, processes refunds/replacements for defective articles.
- Solicits new and established customers via telephone to promote sales.
- Resolves inventory issues and customer concerns; supports warehouse operations.
- Assists clerical staff with orders, purchase orders, and warranty return authorizations.
- Follows directions from counter leads and supports warehouse staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Practical knowledge of warehouse, data processing, and operations procedures.
- Ability to negotiate transactions and mediate between customers and employees.
- Proficiency in Internet and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to learn new software quickly and calculate figures accurately.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Physical capability to stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds (assistance for heavier lifts).
- Prior HVAC experience is required.
