Overview
Homans Associates (HA) is a subsidiary of Watsco, Inc., the largest independent HVAC/R distribution company in the world. We distribute Mitsubishi and Bryant HVAC equipment along with a full line of residential and commercial parts, supplies, and accessories. This position is located in Wilmington, MA.
Responsibilities
- Sells HVAC equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Greets customers, determines merchandise needs, and demonstrates product use.
- Displays merchandise and maintains a clean, organized showroom.
- Uses computer systems to read catalogs, check stock, and prepare orders.
- Processes payments, credit authorizations, and handles returns.
- Solicits customers via telephone and promotes sales initiatives.
- Supports warehouse staff and works in the warehouse environment.
- Collaborates with clerical staff to manage orders and warranty returns.
- Follows direction from counter leads and assists with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Practical knowledge of warehouse operations, data processing, and paper flow procedures.
- Ability to negotiate transactions and mediate between employees and customers.
- Proficient with the Internet and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to quickly learn new software and perform basic algebra calculations.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Physical ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift up to 50 pounds (more with assistance).
- Prior HVAC experience is required.
