Counter Sales Associate

Homans Associates (HA) is a subsidiary of the largest independent HVAC/R distribution company, Watsco, Inc. They proudly distribute Mitsubishi and Bryant HVAC equipment along with a full line of HVAC parts, supplies, and accessories.

Responsibilities

  • Sells heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Greets customers on the sales floor or via telephone, discusses merchandise features.
  • Displays merchandise, suggests selections, and maintains a clean showroom.
  • Reads catalog or computer for part stock numbers and prices, advises on substitutions.
  • Uses computer database to check merchandise availability and processes orders.
  • Handles payments, processes refunds/replacements for defective articles.
  • Solicits new and established customers via telephone to promote sales.
  • Resolves inventory issues and customer concerns; supports warehouse operations.
  • Assists clerical staff with orders, purchase orders, and warranty return authorizations.
  • Follows directions from counter leads and supports warehouse staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Practical knowledge of warehouse, data processing, and operations procedures.
  • Ability to negotiate transactions and mediate between customers and employees.
  • Proficiency in Internet and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn new software quickly and calculate figures accurately.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Physical capability to stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds (assistance for heavier lifts).
  • Prior HVAC experience is required.
