About the Role
Join Hitachi Energy as a Senior R&D Engineer - Software Developer in Vaesteras, Vastmanland County, Sweden. You will be involved in the development of the real-time, high-performance control system platform MACH (Modular Advanced Control for HVDC and FACTS) used in long distance, efficient electricity transmission including offshore wind power and synthetic inertia solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-study, design, and development of cutting-edge control technology.
- Develop and maintain the MACH platform with cross-functional agile teams.
- Work in one or more agile teams using SAFe methodology.
- Contribute to team skills in areas such as eldbus communication and real-time operating systems.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers on projects.
Your Background
You should have a M.Sc. or a B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, along with 5-7 years of relevant software and system design experience. Strong experience in C/C++ (and knowledge in C#) and a good understanding of embedded technologies are required. Experience with eldbus communication protocols (EtherCAT, CAN 2.0, CANopen, HDLC, TDM) and debugging is essential. Knowledge of Python scripting is an added advantage.
