About The Role

The Data Analyst will work for Lorien’s esteemed client near Edinburgh. This hybrid, permanent position involves analyzing data from multiple sources, developing insightful reports, and supporting the company’s data-driven decision-making processes. Key projects include modernizing reporting systems, automating data workflows, and ensuring high data quality standards. Additionally, the role requires providing Power BI training and support to internal users to promote a data-literate culture.

Qualifications

Candidates should have strong technical skills including expertise in Power BI and programming languages such as Python and/or R. Experience with SQL, advanced Excel (including VBA), and familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Azure Data Factory, Data Lakes, Key Vault) are essential. Experience with Power Apps, CRMs (preferably Dynamics 365) and knowledge of machine learning, NLP, or AI initiatives are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain key metrics and reports to monitor business performance.
• Analyze complex datasets to extract actionable insights.
• Modernize reporting processes by implementing automation solutions.
• Monitor and enhance data quality for accuracy and reliability.
• Provide Power BI training sessions to internal users.
• Engage with stakeholders to develop tailored analytical solutions.
• Collaborate with IT to align reporting tools with data infrastructure.
• Support ongoing data projects, including machine learning and NLP applications.
