About the Role
The Cybersecurity Analyst Data Protection is a senior-level role responsible for leading data protection initiatives, managing control assessments, and overseeing the information lifecycle. The position collaborates with cybersecurity, IT, legal, manufacturing, R&D, and customer solutions teams to ensure a robust data security posture that complies with standards and regulations such as GDPR and CUI.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a minimum of nine years of experience in data protection, security operations or related areas. A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred, though an associate degree with relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GCIA, CEH, or Security+) and additional experience is also accepted. A strong grasp of data protection legislation and frameworks (NIST, ISO, CIS, COBIT, OWASP) is essential along with familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage data protection projects, control assessments, and information lifecycle initiatives.
- Review and document data protection requirements, recommending tools like DLP and encryption.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity and IT teams for Data Leakage Prevention readiness.
- Develop, update, and enforce data security procedures and monitor performance metrics.
- Partner with legal and compliance teams to assess regulations and advise improvements.
- Conduct data protection awareness campaigns and training programs.
- Assist in incident response, digital forensics, and security investigations.
- Integrate AI and machine learning securely to ensure data integrity.
- Evaluate cybersecurity risks and perform audits along with publishing GRC metrics.
