Overview
We are seeking a Support Engineer SQL Experience at Hire Overseas. In this role, you will act as the first responder between users and the product engineering team on a fast-growing healthcare technology platform. This is not a help desk role or a purely reactive support position.
Responsibilities
You will own and manage the following tasks:
- Technical Triage and First Response: Diagnose production issues using runbooks and your technical judgment.
- Production Investigation and Troubleshooting: Navigate production databases, use SQL, command-line tools, and scripts to identify and resolve issues.
- Engineering Collaboration: Translate user issues into clear technical bug reports and work directly with engineers via Slack and issue trackers.
- User Onboarding and Access Management: Handle account resets, permission changes, and configuration fixes.
- Operational Tracking and Documentation: Maintain issue trackers and improve troubleshooting documentation.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate possesses:
- 3 to 5+ years in support, software, or data engineering roles.
- Experience in startups, agencies, or high-agency environments.
- A strong technical foundation with working knowledge of SQL, APIs, logs, or scripting.
- Excellent written English skills to explain technical issues simply.
- A strong sense of ownership with urgency and attention to detail.
Nice to Have
- Prior roles as a software engineer, data engineer, or embedded support engineer.
- Experience with SaaS, AI, or healthcare technology platforms.
- Familiarity with tools like Slack, Linear, HelpScout, and Notion.
- Background in healthcare tech, RCM, or regulated software environments.
- Experience with APIs, integrations, or workflow platforms.
