Lead RPA Engineer (Automation & Integration)
Hire Overseas is seeking a Lead RPA Engineer to build and maintain production automations, lead a small team of RPA specialists, and set the standard for team communication and execution. This is a hands-on technical leadership role within a fast-moving AI-native healthcare platform, requiring close collaboration with your team and cross-functional stakeholders in engineering, operations, and product.
The platform addresses significant administrative inefficiencies in American healthcare, with automation being central to delivering care at scale. What You'll Work On
Bot Development and Technical Ownership
- Build, deploy, and maintain production automations on a modern GUI-based RPA platform.
- Design bots with failure in mind for visibility, traceability, and debuggability.
- Map current-state processes and maintain documentation as workflows evolve.
- Connect automations to external systems via APIs and webhooks with robust error handling.
- Own the technical quality bar for all team deliverables.
Triage, Troubleshooting, and Reliability
- Diagnose and resolve complex bot failures end-to-end without premature escalation.
- Isolate root causes quickly and validate fixes.
- Maintain incident logs and resolution summaries for repeatable execution.
- Set the triage standard for the team and ensure accuracy.
Team Leadership and People Management
- Lead a small team of RPA specialists with clear direction, accountability, and support.
- Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and hands-on coaching.
- Foster an environment of ownership and proactive communication.
- Model clear communication standards for the team.
Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management
- Manage communication with the RPA team, engineering, and operations.
- Keep stakeholders informed during testing and high-noise periods.
- Translate technical status into understandable updates for non-technical stakeholders.
- Escalate thoughtfully with full context when necessary.
Process Improvement and Documentation
- Identify and drive fixes for workflow inefficiencies.
- Build and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and process maps.
- Apply error handling and logging best practices.
- Continuously improve execution and documentation standards.
What You Bring
- 4+ years of hands-on RPA experience.
- Proven track record of diagnosing and resolving complex bot failures.
- Experience leading or managing a small technical team.
- Fluency in cross-functional stakeholder communication (technical and non-technical).
- Strong process improvement mindset.
- High bar for communication clarity and ownership.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of API and webhook integrations, including error handling.
Nice to Have
- Experience in healthcare, healthtech, or regulated operational environments.
- Familiarity with UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, or similar platforms.
- Exposure to AI-assisted or intelligent automation.
- Scripting knowledge in Python or similar.
- Experience with production monitoring or observability tools.
