Overview
Hilltop Holdings is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern to gain firsthand experience in the day-to-day operations of the cybersecurity team. The intern will be exposed to frontline duties including event assessment, escalation, data collection, ticket processing, analysis, and remediation tasks.
Responsibilities
- Follow directives from cybersecurity management and senior employees.
- Support daily activities of the cybersecurity team and assist with SOC and IR tasks.
- Learn tool management, threat assessment, and basic incident response.
- Monitor dashboards and event logs with proper escalation.
- Engage in data collection, investigation, reporting and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
Candidates should be working towards an undergraduate degree in information assurance, computer science, engineering or a related technical field. A basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, hands-on coursework with various cybersecurity tools, and knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Unix, Linux) and networking are required.
