About the role

Controller

Highridge Medical is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to oversee our accounting operations and financial systems. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of our financial reporting, as well as driving process improvements and system enhancements to support our growth.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Controllership

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP.
  • Oversee general ledger, revenue recognition, cost accounting, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
  • Lead external audits, tax filings, and coordination with external auditors and advisors.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning in partnership with FP&A.

Financial Systems & Data Governance

  • Serve as the primary owner of financial systems (e.g., ERP, payroll, planning, consolidation, reporting tools).
  • Partner with HR and IT on integrated systems such as Workday, payroll, and benefits platforms.
  • Drive system implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and post-go-live optimization.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and appropriate access controls across financial systems.
  • Translate accounting and business requirements into system configurations and workflows.
  • Develop scalable processes to support growth, acquisitions, and international operations.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and reporting processes through automation.
  • Reduce manual work and spreadsheet dependency through system-led solutions.
  • Standardize documentation, workflows, and controls across the finance function.
  • Create dashboards and reporting tools that support leadership decision-making.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, coach, and develop accounting and systems-focused finance team members.
  • Act as a cross-functional partner to HR, IT, Operations, and Legal.
  • Provide clear guidance and communication to business leaders on financial results and system impacts.
  • Support integration efforts related to M&A, new entities, or system changes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or equivalent preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including controllership responsibilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP and financial systems (Workday Financials experience a strong plus).
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.
  • Proven experience leading system implementations or major upgrades.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI/reporting tools preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience in healthcare, medical device, manufacturing, or regulated environments.
  • Background supporting multi-entity or international operations.
