Radiation Oncology Nurse

Highland Hospital is seeking a dedicated Radiation Oncology Nurse to join their team. This full-time position involves coordinating clinical activities and providing comprehensive nursing care and support to patients throughout their treatment journey. The role requires a proactive approach to patient care, ensuring a safe and efficient clinic flow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate clinical activities for nursing care and support for radiation therapy patients.
• Oversee smooth clinic flow and maintain a safe patient environment.
• Assess and address patients' physical and emotional needs, intervening as necessary.
• Educate patients and families on radiation therapy side effects and departmental procedures.
• Exercise clinical judgment regarding patient symptoms and side effects, reporting to the Radiation Oncologist.
• Function effectively as a team player, participating in team meetings and activities.

Job Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse license and New York State Registration.
• Oncology experience preferred.
• Health Care Provider BLS CPR Certification required.
• For Highland site: ACLS certified upon hire or within 6 months.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good IV skills preferred.

Salary Information:

The hourly pay range for this position is $37.13 - $48.28. Compensation will be determined based on factors such as education, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
