Highland Hospital is seeking dedicated new graduate nurses to join our team for May 2025 openings. This role offers opportunities across a variety of units.

Available Units

  • Medical-Surgical units (PCU, ortho, oncology, geriatric, acute medicine, palliative care, post-surgical, and observation unit)
  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Maternity
  • Operating Room (OR)

Responsibilities of a Registered Nurse

The New Graduate Nurse provides professional nursing services for patients and their families, collaborating with other healthcare providers to achieve expected patient outcomes and improve the care environment. Nurses utilize the nursing process and evidence-based practice to coordinate and provide direct care and services that support patient well-being.

Level I Registered Nurse Program

The Level I RN program is designed for new Associate Degree (AD) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) graduates with 6 months or less of clinical experience post-licensure. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Level I nurse is accountable for providing direct patient care, prioritizing safety, and fostering team collaboration. This role supports peers and contributes to unit activities that enhance patient care outcomes. Upon successful completion of a six-month evaluation, Level I nurses advance to Level II RN status.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $41.00 per hour. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within this compensation range, determined by factors including market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements

  • New licensed RN with 0-6 months experience in an RN role.
  • BS in Nursing preferred.
  • Licensed by New York State to practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider required).
