About the Role: Video Editor

As a Video Editor at Higher Ground, you will be responsible for producing visually compelling and dynamic videos that resonate with our community. The role is remote with a LA base and offers freelance opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Video Editing: Edit and assemble raw footage into polished, engaging videos for social media. Apply retention-based editing techniques and comedic timing.
  • Platform Expertise: Utilize deep knowledge of YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram to optimize videos for audience behavior and retention.
  • Creative Storytelling: Collaborate with creators to shape compelling narratives with innovative editing techniques.
  • Quality Control: Review content for consistency and professionalism, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Collaboration & Trend Awareness: Work closely with team members, apply feedback efficiently, and introduce fresh editing approaches based on industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Video Editor with a diverse portfolio including both short and long form content.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other video editing tools.
  • Deep understanding of YouTube, TikTok, and emerging social video trends.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration skills, and ability to meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
