About the Role: Digital Illustrator at High 5 Games

High 5 Games is seeking a talented Digital Illustrator to develop high-quality visual content for engaging slot games across both mobile and web platforms. In this role, you will focus on creating bold, polished, and game-ready illustrations for symbols, characters, environments, UI elements, and promotional assets. You will be a key player in bringing game themes to life, working closely with art direction, game design, animation, and production teams, ensuring all visuals align with technical and gameplay requirements.

What You'll Do

• Create illustrated assets specifically for slot games, including symbols, characters, backgrounds, frames, and feature visuals.
• Develop art that effectively supports gameplay clarity, theme storytelling, and player engagement.
• Translate art direction and style guides into consistent, production-ready illustrations.
• Prepare layered files and clean assets for animation, in-game implementation, and export processes.
• Collaborate with animators, UI designers, and producers to ensure all assets function seamlessly within the game environment.
• Utilize generative AI tools as part of the creative workflow for ideation, concept exploration, or asset development, while maintaining high artistic quality and consistency.
• Iterate on artwork based on feedback, performance considerations, and game balance needs.
• Occasionally contribute to marketing or promotional visuals associated with new game launches.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong illustration skills, demonstrating a clear understanding of composition, color theory, lighting, and readability.
• Proven experience in creating art specifically for games, with a preference for slot games or casual mobile games.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools and a responsible, effective approach to their integration into a production art pipeline.
• Ability to work across a variety of artistic styles, from stylized and playful to highly polished and premium.
• Solid understanding of asset organization, naming conventions, and production pipelines.
• Comfort working effectively from briefs, established references, and existing brand styles.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to visual consistency across entire asset sets.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with slot game mechanics and common features like reels, symbols, bonuses, and jackpots.
• Familiarity with Spine, After Effects, or best practices for animation-friendly asset preparation.
• Understanding of mobile performance constraints and optimization techniques.
• Experience working with licensed intellectual property (IP) or regulated gaming products.

• Producing artwork that is visually appealing, clearly readable at small sizes, and cohesive throughout entire games.
