About the Team
The Accounting/Finance team at Hermès is responsible for protecting the company’s financial assets, mitigating financial risks, and reporting the financial position to business stakeholders. The department is comprised of three main pillars: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Accounting, and Treasury.
The Internship Program
For more than 185 years, Hermès has encouraged a culture of discovery for both its clients and people. As part of Generation H, you will gain real-world professional experience complementing your academic studies. You will attend a guest-speaker series, partner with a mentor for feedback and coaching, network with stakeholders, and collaborate on a capstone Generation H project. The duration is five months, from July 14, 2025 to December 26, 2025. This is a part-time, in-person internship based at Hermès US corporate headquarters in New York City, with work hours between 15 and 35 per week. Interns are paid an hourly rate of US $20.00.
About the Role
As an Accounting Intern - Generation H, you will:
- Monitor, investigate, and report credit card disputes.
- Collaborate with store directors for timely responses to merchant services.
- Participate in the hard close process including balance sheet reconciliations, discrepancy investigations, and SAP clearing activities.
- Assist with monthly journal entries and true ups for accounts.
- Support inter-company bill back and reconciliation, lease accounting projects, and various ad-hoc projects including audits.
About You
Applicants should be enrolled in an Associates, Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree program. Proficiency in Excel (including PivotTables, V-Lookups, H-Lookups, Index/Match, Sumifs) is preferred. Knowledge of SAP and Retail POS software is a plus.
