Overview

Join our Henry Ford Health Research Care services team as a full time Pharmacy Specialist Investigational Drug Service. This role is central in leading and developing innovative pharmacy programs and research efforts.

General Summary

The Pharmacy Specialist is a pharmacist with specialized training and extensive experience, serving as the institutional expert in a major area of pharmacy practice. This role involves planning, developing, and implementing improved systems or services while working independently and collaborating with other departments to resolve challenges.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain active practice in the specialty area and serve as the institutional expert.
• Plan, develop, and implement high-quality, cost-effective pharmacy programs and services.
• Direct and support pharmacy students and personnel with training and oversight.
• Identify and resolve operational and clinical problems collaboratively.
• Design and conduct applied research and contribute to pharmacy literature.
• Represent the department at internal and external meetings.

Education and Experience

Required: Accredited pharmacy degree, residency or equivalent hospital experience, and at least 3-5 years of pharmacist experience. Must meet Level II pharmacist practice standards and demonstrate leadership and team collaboration skills. Excellent communication and a proven research/publication record are essential.

Certifications/Licensure

Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Michigan. If eligible, licensure must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
