Principle Duties & Responsibilities

• Reviews and assesses medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug-related problems, recommending formulary alternatives when appropriate.
• Compounds and dispenses medications accurately for patient delivery.
• Provides essential drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
• Communicates effectively with physicians and other clinicians to facilitate optimal patient care.
• Oversees technical personnel involved in medication preparation, maintenance, and dispensing.
• Assists with academic functions, including serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students.
• May float to provide coverage for various pharmacy needs.
• Provides efficient and effective patient counseling when required.

Education/Experience Required

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
• PGY1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience preferred.

Certifications/Licensures Required

• Pharmacist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
