About the Role
We are looking for a permanent Early Childhood Education Teacher for the Haikara-Ruuti early childhood education unit. Our kindergartens are located in Eastern Helsinki with good transport links in the green areas of Vesala and Kurkimäki. Our kindergarten's strengths are multiculturalism and community. It is important for us to interact with each child in a positive and sensitive manner. Here, children learn to play and learn through play.
For the upcoming season, we are recruiting an Early Childhood Education Teacher for a group of 2-4 year old children. We are looking for a skilled, active Early Childhood Education Teacher who interacts sensitively with children and will bring their own expertise and strengths to our work community.
About the Kindergarten
Kindergarten Ruuti is located in the Ruuti block house, which also houses a branch of Vesala Primary School. Ruuti has seven children's groups, two of which are at the Linnoittajantie branch. Ruuti is located in Vesala in a nature-rich area with good transport links. The nearby area offers versatile excursion opportunities, such as Lampi playground, Kulttuurimylly, library, local forest, and sports park.

Responsibilities
As an Early Childhood Education Teacher, you will be responsible for the development of your children's group's operating culture and learning environment, planning, implementing, developing, and evaluating pedagogical activities, and supporting the individual learning of children in accordance with the Helsinki early childhood education and pre-primary education plan, the early childhood education unit's action plan, and the child's personal learning plan.
Eligibility Requirements
We require that you have the eligibility in accordance with the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) or, according to the transitional provision (75), a Bachelor's degree in education (lto), a suitable polytechnic degree, or a previous equivalent polytechnic-level degree, e.g., a kindergarten teacher or social pedagogue degree (Act 272/2005 and Decree 608/2005). Eligibility is also met by a recognition decision from the Finnish National Agency for Education based on foreign education for the position applied for.
In addition, we require good oral and written skills in Finnish. The selected person must present a valid criminal record extract for working with children (504/2002). A report on tuberculosis of the respiratory organs for those working with children under school age will be checked (Communicable Diseases Act 55).
Upon starting a permanent employment relationship as an Early Childhood Education Teacher with the City of Helsinki in 2026, we will offer you a €2,000 incentive bonus. The bonus will be paid only once to the same person. Further information is available from the recruiting kindergarten manager.
