Who We Are
Helsing is a defence AI company dedicated to protecting democracies by achieving technological leadership. We prioritize thoughtful development and deployment of powerful AI technologies, taking our responsibility seriously.
We are an ambitious and committed team of engineers, AI specialists, and customer-facing programme managers, seeking mission-driven individuals to join our European teams. Our culture is open and transparent, encouraging healthy debates on technology use in defence and its ethical implications.
The Role: Associate Programme Manager
As an Associate Programme Manager, you will be the operational heartbeat of a critical national defence programme. Reporting to a Programme Lead, you will bridge strategic objectives with day-to-day technology delivery. Your role involves driving the operational rhythm, ensuring seamless coordination across work streams for the end-to-end delivery of a next-generation weapon system. This is a unique opportunity to apply analytical, organisational, and strategical skills in a high-impact, dynamic environment.
The Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Supporting Programme Leads in tracking progress against the master schedule, proactively identifying potential delays and dependencies.
- Facilitating key programme meetings (status reviews, stand-ups), ensuring thorough preparation, documentation, and action tracking.
- Supporting external client and partner engagements.
- Acting as the central point of contact for information requests, maintaining a single source of truth for programme data and documentation.
- Preparing high-quality briefing packs, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Engaging with technical delivery teams to understand progress, challenges, and resource needs, translating these into programme-level insights.
- Supporting programme governance activities, ensuring compliance with established processes and standards.
What We Look For
You should apply if you have:
- 2-4 years of experience in a project/programme delivery or consulting role.
- A background in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments, demonstrating an ability to structure problems, manage stakeholders, and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
- Exceptional organisational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Hands-on experience with core PMO activities, including risk and issue management, status reporting, and meeting facilitation.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and tracking.
- A proactive, resourceful, and 'can-do' attitude, ready to take ownership and support the team.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment with a degree of ambiguity.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain the necessary level of security clearance.
- An interest in or prior exposure to the defence, aerospace, or public sector.
Why Join Helsing?
- You will directly contribute to the protection of democratic countries, balancing ethical and geopolitical concerns.
- Work on unique challenges in a domain with highly unusual technical requirements, where robustness, safety, and ethical considerations are vital.
- Engage with state-of-the-art technical innovation, including reinforcement learning, distributed systems, generative AI, and deployment infrastructure.
- Be part of a company that takes significant bets, aims high, and focuses on big opportunities, leading historic leaps forward in the defence industry.
- Participate in a culture that encourages healthy, diverse debate, responsible autonomy, critical thinking, and a focus on outcomes.
