About the Weekend Operations Manager Role at HelloFresh
HelloFresh is seeking a dedicated Weekend Operations Manager to lead its weekend support team, ensuring efficient buying operations across the organization. This full-time position operates on a unique Friday - Monday schedule, comprising four 10-hour days.
The Procurement Team is vital for guaranteeing the timely and accurate shipment of every meal kit, collaborating with distribution centers seven days a week. Given the perishable nature of food and our 24/7 operations, this role is crucial for providing essential ingredient support during weekends, maintaining seamless workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategically oversee the team of weekend buyers, managing inventory, purchasing, issue resolution, and incoming tickets for the entire SKU portfolio.
- Lead weekend operations as the primary escalation point, proactively resolving issues and escalating matters to appropriate owners in a timely manner.
- Maintain organized and continuous weekend workflows through structured communication, effective ticket management, and clear expectation setting.
- Provide direct, hands-on support for high-priority tickets and critical callouts to manage team bandwidth constraints.
- Serve as the main Distribution Center Point of Contact (DC POC) and primary weekend escalation lead, managing critical escalations, urgent communications, and rapid resolution of time-sensitive warehouse issues.
- Move quickly and decisively to address urgent operational demands, developing and executing robust contingency and backup plans for business continuity.
- Lead and facilitate team meetings to prepare procurement teams for weekend success, ensuring continuity through a detailed handoff process.
- Champion and drive continuous improvement, identifying inefficiencies, executing solutions, overseeing project delivery, and tracking measurable results.
- Support teammates to prevent missed boxes or ingredient substitutions due to procurement issues.

Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
- 5+ years of purchasing or relevant leadership experience, preferably with produce, protein, or other food products.
- Vast knowledge and interest in food.
- Quantitative and analytical experience (education or professional), with solid comfort in Excel.
