The Freelance Technical Writer will work on content-focused projects for Fortune 500 companies and unicorn startups. This role involves supporting AI systems by generating and validating high-quality technical documentation in a flexible, project-based setting. Engagements are short to mid-term.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, edit, and refine AI-generated technical content for clarity and accuracy.
  • Author new documentation including product specs, API guides, and internal wikis.
  • Validate content against enterprise documentation standards.
  • Provide feedback on AI output for improved relevance.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with research and platform teams.

Ideal Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in writing or editing technical documentation.
  • Ability to translate complex tech topics into accessible language.
  • Familiarity with Markdown, Git, and Confluence.
  • Detail-oriented with strong editorial judgment.
  • Background in engineering, product, or technical program management is a plus.

More About the Opportunity

This is a remote and asynchronous position with flexible hours (10–25 hours/week). Project durations range from a few weeks to several months with opportunities to work with multiple clients.

Compensation & Contract Terms

Compensation ranges from $50–100/hour depending on experience and location. Payments are processed weekly.
