Position Overview
The Assistant Professor of Mathematics role at HelixRecruit offers a unique opportunity for PhD students, post-docs, and early career professors to push the boundaries of AI reasoning by training large language models with advanced mathematical challenges. Responsibilities
- Develop original, graduate-level problems in pure and applied mathematics.
- Evaluate AI-generated solutions and identify gaps in ability.
- Provide structured feedback and generate complete and correct solutions.
- Design novel, advanced mathematics problems.
- Closely review, test, and evaluate AI solutions for correctness and clarity.
Required Qualifications
- Current PhD student, post-doc, or recent PhD graduate (<5 years ago) in pure or applied mathematics.
- Highly proficient in writing and formatting documents using LaTeX.
- Expertise in algebra, geometry, combinatorics, number theory, analysis, probability, or related fields.
- Ability to clearly articulate complex reasoning in written form.
- Rigorous attention to detail and independent work style.
Engagement Details
This is a remote, flexible independent contractor role with an expected commitment of 20 to 40 hours per week for approximately 10 weeks. Rolling start dates with setup typically within 1–2 days of approval.
