Position Overview

The Junior Software Quality Engineer at Helic & Co. is a motivated and detail-oriented role designed to support the design, execution, and improvement of software testing processes. The aim is to ensure product reliability, performance, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Execute manual test cases to validate new features, bug fixes, and regression scenarios.
  • Assist in writing, maintaining, and improving automated test scripts.
  • Log, track, and verify defects using issue-tracking tools.
  • Support test planning, execution, and documentation of results.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies to highlight quality risks.
  • Continuously learn and apply QA best practices to improve testing efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of testing principles including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Exposure to programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
