Position Overview

The Junior Software Quality Engineer at Helic & Co. is a motivated and detail-oriented role focused on supporting the design, execution, and improvement of software testing processes. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and senior QA engineers to identify issues early in the development cycle and contribute to seamless user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand requirements.
  • Execute manual test cases for new features, bug fixes, and regression scenarios.
  • Assist in writing, maintaining, and improving automated test scripts.
  • Log, track, and verify defects using issue-tracking tools.
  • Support test planning, execution, and documentation of results.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies to provide quality risk input.
  • Continuously learn and apply QA best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar field.
  • Familiarity with SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of testing principles including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Exposure to programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git and issue-tracking tools such as Jira or Trello.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
