Position Overview
The Junior Software Quality Engineer at Helic & Co. is a motivated, detail-oriented role supporting the design, execution, and improvement of software testing processes. This role emphasizes ensuring product reliability, performance, and quality while collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and senior QA engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Execute manual test cases for new features, bugs, and regression scenarios.
- Assist in writing, maintaining, and improving automated test scripts.
- Log, track, and verify defects using issue-tracking tools.
- Support test planning, execution, and documentation of results.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies to voice quality insights.
- Continuously learn and apply quality assurance best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Basic testing principles including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
- Exposure to programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience with version control systems like Git and issue-tracking tools like Jira or Trello.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and effective communication.
