Position Summary

The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer I role at Heartland Business Systems LLC develops, implements, and supports related services and solutions for consulting clients. You will build customer-focused relationships to identify business challenges and develop the best solutions.

This is a highly technical, challenging, and rewarding role that requires expertise in Azure Infrastructure, M365, and Entra ID with a strong focus on security. The role involves significant customer-facing consultations, developing specializations in platform, infrastructure, and security for multiple customer profiles.

The candidate is expected to obtain eight (8+) certifications and follow a professional development plan upon hire.

Roles and Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Work as a leader and contributor within the HBS Cloud Architecture Team.
• Collaborate with internal teams for successful scope delivery and execution.
• Research new products, enhance standards, and educate team members.
• Provide senior-level support and maintenance for customer environments.
• Assist in developing and implementing Azure cloud security architectures.
• Manage security architectures for cloud/hybrid systems and document processes.
• Mentor and provide career plan input for engineers and interns.
• Maintain detailed documentation for project scopes and time estimates.
• Keep certifications up-to-date and stay current on new products and solutions.

Required and Preferred Experience

Minimum 3+ years in a technical field. Experience in designing and architecting Microsoft Cloud and Identity solutions (including Entra ID, SAML SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, etc.). Preferred experience includes consulting and working with technologies like Microsoft Azure Infrastructure, Microsoft Intune, Defender for Endpoint/Server, and Microsoft Security technologies.

Technical Skills and Certifications

• Deep understanding of Azure Infrastructure, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
• Experience with Microsoft enterprise products and networking protocols.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python.
• Orchestration and automation experience with Bicep & ARM Templates, Terraform, etc.
• Required certifications vary by focus area, with multiple preferred Microsoft certifications.
