About the Role

The Technical Product Manager Data Ad Platforms at Hearst drives the modernization of internal data and reporting platforms. In this hands-on, execution-focused role, you will translate stakeholder needs into actionable technical requirements and user stories while ensuring scalable data systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate stakeholder needs into technical documentation and user stories.
  • Own intake, prioritization, and backlog grooming for BI tools and order management systems.
  • Define KPIs and track product performance in Agile workflows.
  • Lead migration from legacy systems to a modern cloud-based stack.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams on scalable data models, pipelines, and APIs.
  • Maintain data governance standards including lineage, documentation, and access control.
  • Bridge communication between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Monitor adoption and performance to inform iterative improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years in product management or data product roles
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, APIs, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks.
  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI.
  • Experience in Agile development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in ad tech, martech, or media environments.
  • Familiarity with advertising revenue workflows and order management systems.
  • Experience in platform migration from legacy systems.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
