Overview (Why This Role?)
The Product Manager, AI-Powered Content & Operational Tools role is focused on leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to enhance the content lifecycle management and improve operational efficiencies for internal teams at Hearst Magazines. You will drive product strategy for tools that augment human capabilities, automate repetitive tasks, and unlock new efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
- Develop and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI-powered tools.
- Identify use cases and define product requirements for AI solutions like automated content tagging and SEO optimization.
- Collaborate with editorial teams, marketing operations, data scientists, and engineers.
- Prioritize initiatives based on efficiency, cost savings, and content quality impact.
- Define and track key success metrics to measure ROI of AI-powered tools.
- Stay updated with advancements in AI/ML for content operations and workflow automation.
Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)
- 5+ years of product management experience, focusing on internal tools or workflow automation.
- Experience applying AI/ML to solve business problems or enhance operational efficiency.
- Strong understanding of content creation and management processes in media or publishing.
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and translate pain points into product solutions.
- Experience with agile development and managing a product backlog.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred direct experience with AI/ML projects (e.g., NLP, computer vision, predictive analytics).
- Familiarity with editorial workflows and content management systems.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in change management.

Compensation
The base salary for this role is between $149,000 and $181,000, dependent on transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
