Position Overview
The Before School Program Supervisor role at Myers Corners Elementary in Wappingers Falls, NY, is a part-time position with a schedule from 6:20 am to 8:30 am. This role involves direct hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum including fitness, STEAM, academic adventures, artsy creations, and homework assistance. The supervisor also ensures a safe and engaging environment for children and supports site management functions as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct instruction and supervise children using a diverse curriculum.
- Create a safe, healthy, and fun atmosphere for students.
- Support the Site Director with attendance, registration, and staffing.
- Communicate regularly with parents using the Playground App.
- Adhere to OCFS guidelines, program policies, and school rules.
- Collaborate with the Director on problem solving and decision making.
Requirements
Applicants must have either:
- A high school diploma (or equivalent) with two years of experience working with children under 13, OR
- A School-age Child Care Credential (or equivalent) with one year of experience, OR
- An Associate’s degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field.
Candidates must be medically fit, warm, friendly, reliable, and ready for physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs.).
