Position Overview: Before School Program Substitute
This part-time, non-exempt role supports the Before-School Program for the 2025-2026 school year within the Beacon City School District in Beacon, NY. As a substitute, you will facilitate hands-on activities, foster a safe and fun environment, assist with homework, and maintain communication with families through the Playground App.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic adventures, and arts.
- Create a safe, healthy, and fun environment for children.
- Communicate with parents via the Playground App.
- Follow OCFS guidelines, Healthy Kids Program policies, and host school rules.
- Manage attendance records, registration, and staffing (for some positions).
Minimum Qualifications
- 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with children under 13 is a plus but not required.
- Medically fit and free of communicable diseases.
- Warm, friendly, upbeat, professional, reliable, and punctual.
- Ability to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
