Position Details

We are hiring for multiple roles for the 2025-2026 school year at AJ Smith Elementary School, in Union Springs, NY. Available positions include Substitutes, Assistants, Group Leaders, Supervisors, and Directors. This is a part-time, non-exempt position with pay ranging from $15.50 to $17.00 per hour based on role, qualifications, and experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and group activities, including homework completion).
  • Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment while serving as a positive role model.
  • Communicate daily with parents via the Playground App.
  • Observe state guidelines, program policies, and host school policies.
  • Some roles include management tasks such as maintaining attendance records, registration, and staffing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Applicants must be 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with children under 13 is a plus but not required.
  • Must be medically fit and free of communicable diseases, including TB.
  • Warm, friendly, and upbeat personality with strong people skills.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
