Role Overview

This role is for a Pre-K Director and Lead Teacher at our Before and/or After School program in Rotterdam Junction, NY. The position spans curriculum support and key administrative duties to ensure a high quality childcare service.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Support: Collaborate with teaching teams to implement curriculum for an enriching learning environment.

  • Implement age-appropriate lesson plans.
  • Utilize Creative Curriculum and CLASS method.

Administrative Duties: Plan, organize, and manage childcare services including budgeting, policy adherence, staff training, and supervision.

Director-Specific Responsibilities

  • Engage with the community through events and open houses.
  • Ensure licensing compliance with OCFS regulations.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate student records.
  • Oversee facility management and procurement of supplies.
  • Manage recruitment, training, and supervision of staff.
  • Utilize HR and Registration platforms for smooth operations.
  • Integrate ECERs, Creative Curriculum, and CLASS observations to enhance program quality.
  • Conduct biannual parent-teacher conferences.

Lead Teacher Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute weekly lesson plans.
  • Foster positive interactions and ensure safety standards.
  • Maintain regular communications with parents via various channels.
  • Track child progress and support family transitions between programs.
  • Provide support and guidance to classroom assistants.
  • Engage in ongoing educational and in-service opportunities.

Requirements

A candidate must meet one of multiple educational and experience routes including a bachelor's degree (or in progress), a New York State children's program administrator credential, an associate's degree with a study plan, or a child development associate credential coupled with relevant teaching and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

  • Medically cleared and free of communicable diseases.
  • Physically capable of performing tasks up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with professionalism and punctuality.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and provide quality childcare.
