Position Overview: Before and After School Program Director

Based at Madison Elementary School in Madison, NY, the director leads all aspects of the Healthy Kids Program Site dedicated to before and after school activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with OCFS, Healthy Kids policies, and host school rules.
  • Direct engaging, hands-on activities including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and homework support.
  • Manage essential tasks: attendance, registration records, and staffing efforts.
  • Maintain communication with parents and family via the Playground App.
  • Collaborate with direct reports to address daily issues promptly.

Education and Experience Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Two years of college (18 credits in relevant fields) and two years of direct experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity.
  • New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential with required experience.
  • School-Age Child Care Credential or related credential with required experience.
  • Associate’s degree in relevant field with required experience.

Qualifications

  • Medically fit and free of communicable diseases.
  • Warm, friendly, and excellent people skills.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
