Job Description

Part-time Pharmacist - Long Term Care

Scope of Responsibilities:

Oversees operations of the Pharmacy department. Relies on experience and professional judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the implementation and adherence to the HealthDirect Standard of Practice as it relates to the provision of the highest quality health care service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follows the HealthDirect Standard of Practice to dispense prescriptions.
  • Performs all quality assurance steps to insure a technically accurate prescription is dispensed.
  • Reports dispensing incidents in a timely manner, in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Follows all State and Federal regulations governing the practice of Pharmacy.
  • Oversees the initial submission, resubmission and collection of all third party claims.
  • Manages and balances the pharmacy inventory to ensure maximum turns while remaining in-stock for customer needs.
  • Ensures prescription files and other manual records are maintained in accordance with all state and federal guidelines.
  • Ensures outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees always.
  • Ensures all loss prevention policies are followed by all employees and report deviations from said policies to Loss Prevention.
  • Oversees the maintenance of the pharmacy department to ensure a clean and professional environment.
  • Maintains and develops professional relationships with doctors and others in the health service professions.
  • Maintains an awareness of developments in the Pharmacy and Health Care Services fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrates them into own practice.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient information.
  • Facilitates communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
  • Works on-call schedule, where applicable.
  • Interacts with Facility Manager in the appropriate completion of hiring practices, performance reviews and disciplinary actions of pharmacy department personnel.
  • Performs MTM, IMMR, short stay reviews, delivery at discharge, and other clinical functions to support consultant pharmacists and maintain compliance at customer locations.
  • Assists in meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operating the pharmacy within said guidelines.
  • Interfaces with various auditors and outside agencies, as needed.
  • Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

Minimum: BS or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy

Job Requirements:

  • Possess and maintain a valid State License and current registration to practice Pharmacy.
  • Ability to stand/walk throughout the majority of the shift.

Job Skills Required:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong Organizational skills.
  • Basic keyboarding skills.

Compensation:

$60.00 - $68.75 an hour. The final offer will be determined after careful consideration of multiple factors such as relevant skills, years of experience and education.
