Clinical Nurse Specialist Mental Health, General Adult Liaison Department
The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist in Mental Health to join the General Adult Liaison Department in Galway. This permanent, whole-time position focuses on providing specialized mental health care within a general adult setting, ensuring comprehensive patient advocacy, education, and clinical excellence.
About the Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Mental Health, you will be an integral part of the Liaison Department within the Adult Acute Mental Health Unit (AAMHU) in Galway. This role demands a high level of professional knowledge and experience across a wide spectrum of mental health disorders and dysfunctions. You will be responsible for managing and caring for patients in line with the core concepts of the Clinical Nurse Specialist role: clinical focus, patient/client advocacy, education and training, audit and research, and acting as a consultant across various settings.
A panel may be formed from this campaign for similar roles within the Galway Roscommon Mental Health Services, offering potential opportunities for future permanent or specified purpose vacancies, full or part-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate advanced professional knowledge and experience in managing diverse mental health disorders.
- Provide specialized care in line with CNS core concepts: clinical focus, patient/client advocacy, education, training, audit, research, and consultancy.
- Apply for entry onto the Interim ONMSD CNS database.
- Work collaboratively within the Liaison Department, AAMHU Galway.
Candidate Requirements
- Relevant nursing qualifications and registration.
- Demonstrated expertise in mental health nursing, particularly within general adult liaison settings.
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care and advocacy.
- Ability to engage in continuous professional development, including audit and research.
