Job Description
Automation Engineer at HCLTech
HCLTech is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team in Vancouver, BC. This role requires a highly skilled individual with a strong background in end-to-end automation, focusing on both web and mobile applications. You will be instrumental in coordinating automation efforts, developing robust test code, and ensuring the reliability of our testing frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Automation Point of Contact (POC) for assigned automation projects.
- Coordinate closely with QA, product, and engineering teams on automation initiatives.
- Develop and maintain high-quality automation test code using best practices and standards.
- Debug test failures efficiently and contribute to resolving technical blockers.
- Monitor and report on the ROI, health, and reliability of automation areas under your purview.
- Execute tests and work with client-dedicated parties to enhance automation coverage.
- Drive issue resolution, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to prevent future Service Level (SEV) incidents.
- Troubleshoot and debug test framework issues, conducting code searches for solutions.
- Deliver regular plans, updates, and status reports on product automation.
- Communicate and escalate blockers or failures to SDET and product engineers.
- Generate clear and actionable bug reports.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 5 years of hands-on, end-to-end automation experience.
- Expertise in JavaScript / Node.js.
- Strong logical and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Extensive experience with mobile app automation (iOS, Android, Native).
- Proficiency in web app automation.
Very Good to Have
- Familiarity with Jest framework or similar testing frameworks.
- Experience with Selenium (Java or Python).
Work Arrangement
This is a 5-day onsite position located in Vancouver, BC.
