Main Goal

We are looking for an R&D Finance Business Partner who will be responsible for managing, tracking, and reporting R&D resources and activities, and will take a leading role in developing the strategy for resource allocation. This role combines deep analytical work, budget ownership, and close day-to-day partnership with R&D leaders to ensure effective use of resources and data-driven decision-making across Hazera’s global R&D network. As Hazera’s R&D Finance Business Partner, you will also manage the R&D Costing Specialist.

Job Description

• Lead the annual R&D budget build and ongoing forecast process (OpEx & CapEx)
• Monitor budget execution and proactively identify gaps, risks, and saving opportunities
• Ensure accurate cost allocation and financial transparency across R&D activities
• Build and maintain R&D dashboards with clear KPIs (project timelines, resource utilization, spend vs. plan, ROI)
• Optimize resource allocation using scenario planning and risk-adjusted investment models
• Provide ROI calculations for new R&D projects, partnerships, and investments
• Work closely with Breeding Directors and R&D managers to align resources with priorities
• Provide financial analysis and support for evaluation of external partnerships, licensing opportunities, new investments, new R&D projects (ROI calculations), R&D tax credits
• Support the Head of R&D in developing an R&D portfolio strategy and actively support the portfolio review process with the Marketing team
• Engage with Hazera Finance team, Marketing and Commercial teams to align R&D investments with compliance, and business needs.
• Represent and lead liaison with R&D Finance of sister companies to ensure alignment with practices and processes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Finance, Business management, or related field
• 5+ years of Experience in a global matrix organization as a Finance, FP&A, or Process Management role.
• Strong hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities (BI/ERP systems – advantage)
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
• Fluent English
• Good communicational and presentational skills
• Travel: ~10% international
