Network Automation Engineer II at Haystack
We're collaborating with a leading nationwide telecommunications and connectivity provider on an exciting opportunity. Haystack is seeking a Python powerhouse to bridge the gap between software engineering and large-scale network infrastructure.
This role offers the chance to move beyond manual configurations and build sophisticated, software-defined infrastructure. You will leverage Python and Ansible to automate complex network workflows, working with modern containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes to ensure a resilient, high-speed digital experience for millions of users.
The Role
- Develop and maintain advanced Python and Ansible automations to streamline complex network engineering workflows and backend provisioning.
- Program backend tasks for deploying networking equipment and adjacent systems using NETCONF, Netmiko, NAPALM, and TextFSM.
- Build and optimize data pipelines and APIs while collaborating with stakeholders to translate user requirements into Agile user stories.
- Architect low-level (LLD) and high-level (HLD) design documentation for automated infrastructure solutions.
- Troubleshoot automation scripts and collaborate with senior engineers to define CI/CD best practices and DevNet standards.
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of experience in Network Engineering with a heavy focus on Python scripting and network automation.
- Expert-level proficiency in backend automation, API development, and data structures (SQL, JSON, YAML).
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Strong background in DevOps CI/CD workflows and modern web technologies like JavaScript and React for automation dashboards.
- Familiarity with data processing tools such as Apache Airflow or Talend is highly preferred for pipeline monitoring.
