The Role
- Transform complex spatial data into actionable insights for product and business decisions
- Manage the full geospatial data pipeline from ingestion and processing to analysis and visualization
- Develop and maintain spatial data models and apply machine learning techniques to spatial problems
- Create compelling visualizations and communicate findings to diverse stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to embed spatial intelligence into the platform
- Ensure high geospatial data quality, coverage, and accuracy
- 3-6 years of experience in data science, GIS, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in Python for geospatial data analysis (GeoPandas, Shapely, Fiona, Rasterio)
- Deep experience with PostgreSQL and PostGIS for spatial querying and data management
- Familiarity with geospatial standards and formats (GeoJSON, Shapefile, GeoTIFF, WKT, WKB)
- Experience with GIS tools such as QGIS or ArcGIS
- Solid understanding of coordinate reference systems, projections, and spatial indexing
- Ability to communicate findings clearly in a remote, asynchronous environment
