About the Role

As an AI Language Engineer at Haystack, you will contribute to a pioneering data services organization focused on developing diverse datasets for training and evaluating advanced AI models. This role involves driving innovation in the creation of complex, multimodal datasets using cutting-edge approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Design and coordinate complex data collections with human participants, defining quality targets and managing deliverables.
  • Develop intricate data creation tasks utilizing synthetic and model-based generation methods.
  • Analyze and extract critical insights from large volumes of data to inform AI model development.
  • Build tools and prototypes for data analysis and creation using Python or other scripting languages.
  • Leverage modeling tools to bootstrap or test new AI functionalities and evaluate performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure AI systems are best-in-class.

What You'll Need

  • Master's degree or higher in Computational Linguistics or an equivalent field with computational analysis.
  • 2+ years of experience in computational linguistics, language data processing, or AI data creation.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages, particularly Python, for data manipulation and tool building.
  • Experience with language data annotation systems and various forms of data markup.
  • Ability to work with speech, text, and multimodal data across multiple languages.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a detail-oriented approach.
