About the Role

The Account Executive role within the Activation Team at Havas Play UK specializes in managing and activating partnerships, sponsorships, and content. This integrated position supports the brief handling, activation, planning, and project management of creative solutions spanning partnerships, sponsorships, content, influencer marketing, and brand-to-brand collaborations.

This role is situated within a football-first team, making a strong passion and extensive knowledge in football highly preferred.

Purpose of Role

The primary purpose of the Account Executive is to assist Account Managers and more senior team members in ensuring all accounts and projects run smoothly. As the backbone of the team, this role focuses heavily on activation tasks, requiring exceptional organization, attention to detail, and proactiveness. A strong understanding of the sponsorship landscape and an active interest in culture are essential, along with demonstrated project management skills within a creative and media environment, engaging with various internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Support multiple accounts, prioritize actions, and keep the team updated on progress. Demonstrate a proactive attitude and embrace the 'prepare' and 'follow up' mantras to stay ahead.
  • Writing and Presentation Skills: Develop strong written communication for internal and external documents (status reports, meeting notes, briefs, reporting, case studies). Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients, rights holders, and internal teams. Pay close attention to detail in media plans and be proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
  • Approach, Initiative & Problem Solving: Maintain a positive and proactive approach. Take full ownership and accountability for actions, understanding their impact on the wider team. Always think ahead with clients in mind. Seek out and share agency trends, industry updates, and product launches.
  • Relationships: Build strong relationships with clients, partners, internal client teams, wider Havas Play specialisms, media owners, and suppliers, developing a strong understanding of the market.
  • Strategic Skills and Responding to Briefs: Support research and administrative tasks for brief responses. Begin to understand how insights, strategy, and measurement integrate into daily work.
  • Campaign Execution & Administration: Assist in the planning and activation of all projects and administrative processes (status docs, timelines, meeting follow-ups, reporting). Ensure quality control through check-ins with senior team members and monitor campaigns against project timelines.
  • Client Services & Industry Knowledge: Show strong interest in culture, especially football (men's and women's). Demonstrate genuine interest in clients' businesses and sectors, flagging relevant information.
  • People Management: Maintain strong communication to keep teams updated on workloads and communicate any challenges effectively.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks, factoring in time for team review before client deadlines, and managing internal and external expectations.
  • Finance: Understand Havas Play's and wider Havas Media's commercial models (e.g., barter). Be fully competent with finance systems and processes (Monday.com, Pulse, Sync) and ensure accurate timesheet reporting.
