We are seeking an Entry Level Environmental Technician to join our Infrastructure Environmental Management (IEM) team. This is primarily a field-based position.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily participate in field investigations and construction monitoring programs and reporting locally with flexibility to support our offices in Fort St John, Terrace, and Fort MacLeod.
  • Work long hours during busy months and on weekends when required.
  • Assist with data analysis and interpretation.

Education and Experience

  • Recent graduate of a 2-year accredited diploma or a degree program in applied science, engineering technology, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • Previous training, coursework and work experience (e.g., co-op’s) in environmental construction monitoring, soil and water sampling, and reporting in BC.
  • Eligibility to apply for Applied Science Technologist (AScT) designation within 6-12 months.

Other Assets/Skills

  • A valid Canadian driver’s license for the past three years, experience driving a pickup truck and the ability to meet the requirements for our third-party automobile insurance policy.
  • Willingness to work long hours and in inclement outdoor weather conditions.
  • Vehicle is required to drive to various sites.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working on or near water and in variable weather conditions.
