About the role
About Hatch
There’s nothing like a great night’s sleep—the cozy, wrapped-up-in-a-heavy-blanket kind of sleep. The fire-crackling, curtains-drawn, DO NOT DISTURB kind of sleep. You know, the good stuff. But here’s the thing: while 85% of people agree sleep is the key to their well-being, more than half are unsatisfied with their own. Whether it’s stress, interruptions, work, or little ones waking in the night, so many people need help getting truly restorative rest. That’s where we come in. At Hatch, we’re on a mission to help people build better sleep habits—so they can feel more focused, energized, and present in their lives. We’ve designed best-in-class smart sleep devices, paired with science-backed sleep content, to help people unwind nightly, sleep deeply, and wake gently. More than 5 million sleepers of all ages have made space for rest with Hatch, with our baby products in 1 in 3 nurseries and our adult product, Restore, taking over nightstands (and TikTok) worldwide. Hatch is based in California, so we ask that you’re available during PST/PDT hours. The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Growth Strategy Lead to act as a strategic partner to our marketing and executive leadership team. This role focuses on understanding where growth is working, where it’s breaking, and how we should respond. You will operate across all acquisition channels, connecting signals from marketing, product, web, retail, and customer behavior to surface the highest-impact opportunities for growth and guide how we act on them, grounded in data and performance insights. You’ll proactively identify where to focus and how to improve performance, and step in when outcomes fall short to diagnose root causes, connect disparate signals, and help the team align on clear next steps. You’ll do this by framing the right questions and translating insights into actionable recommendations. This role reports to the Senior Director of Growth Marketing and partners closely with channel owners, creative, and analytics teams. This person must be based in the United States or Canada. Hatch is based out of California, so this role would be asked to be available during PST/PDT hours. What You’ll Do
In Your First 45 Days:- Get up to speed on Hatch’s business, including growth strategy, channel mix, customer segments, and key performance drivers.
- Build a clear view of current performance across marketing, web, and retail, identifying the most critical gaps and areas of opportunity.
- Partner with marketing, product, and analytics to understand how data is structured and where key blind spots exist.
- Surface and prioritize 3-4 high-impact opportunities or risks, with clear hypotheses and initial recommendations to guide near-term focus.
- Regularly synthesize inputs across marketing channels, retail, DTC, and market signals to identify the most important growth opportunities and risks.
- Partner with channel owners (paid social, PPC, influencer, creative, web) to shape test plans, size opportunities, and prioritize initiatives.
- Translate complex or incomplete data into clear narratives that help leadership make informed decisions.
- Establish a consistent cadence of insight sharing, helping teams and leadership stay focused on what matters most.
- Play a central role in shaping Hatch’s growth strategy, contributing to annual planning and long-term investment decisions.
- Identify step-change opportunities across channels, customer segments, and new growth levers.
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to marketing and executive leadership, bringing clarity to ambiguous or high-stakes questions.
- Consistently improve marketing efficiency and business performance through strong prioritization and strategic recommendations.
What You’ll Bring
- 6+ years of experience in growth marketing strategy, business strategy, or similar roles within high-growth consumer or e-commerce environments.
- Strong ability to work with data and synthesize it into clear, actionable insights and recommendations; comfortable using tools like SQL, Excel/Sheets, and BI platforms with a focus on interpretation over reporting.
- Experience in management consulting, business operations, or strategic growth roles strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of influencing cross-functional teams and executive leadership with clear thinking, strong judgment, and compelling communication.
- Comfortable stepping into ambiguous or high-pressure situations to assess performance issues, identify root causes, and recommend clear next steps.
- Deep understanding of marketing growth levers, including channel mix, audience expansion, and conversion optimization.
- Experience designing and evaluating experiments across marketing and web channels.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tell clear, compelling stories that drive alignment and action.
- High curiosity and strong business judgment, with a focus on identifying what matters most.
How You’ll Work
- Operate as a horizontal partner across marketing, product, retail, and analytics teams, working closely with Data/Analytics to define the right questions, interpret outputs, and translate findings into business decisions.
- Focus on diagnosing opportunities and shaping recommendations rather than owning execution or channel performance.
- Influence priorities and roadmaps by bringing clarity, structure, and strong judgment to complex problems.
